Everything Reelless does

Three groups of tools — Block, Control, Measure — on your Android phone and in Chrome on your computer, plus what’s planned next. Plan labels show where each feature is expected to land; they may change before launch.

Block

Stop short videos the moment they appear, without breaking the rest of the app.

  • Short-video player exits automatically

    Free

When a Shorts, Reels or Spotlight player opens — from a tab, a notification or a link — Reelless presses back for you in a fraction of a second.

How it helps: The first video never gets the chance to hook you, which is the one that matters.

  • Reels shelves get covered

    Free

Rows of short videos mixed into your home feed are covered with a calm panel, so you can keep scrolling the posts you actually came for.

How it helps: You still see friends’ posts and updates without the autoplaying row tempting you.

  • Reels and Shorts tabs can’t be opened

    Free

Tapping the short-video tab does nothing — you stay where you were.

How it helps: Removes the habit loop of thumb-to-tab, even on autopilot.

  • One and done

    Pro

A friend sends you a reel? Watch that one. When you swipe for the next, Reelless closes the player.

How it helps: You stay part of the conversation without falling into the feed behind it.

  • Works in every app language

    Free

Detection is based on screen structure, not words, so it works in any language — including right-to-left scripts.

How it helps: No settings to change if your phone isn’t in English.

  • Works in mobile browsers

    Free

Short-video pages in Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, Brave, Edge and Opera get the same treatment as the apps.

How it helps: Closes the loophole of opening the website instead of the app.

  • Chrome extension for your computer

    Chrome extension

Hide Shorts, Reels and recommendation feeds on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and more in Chrome on your desktop or laptop — with the same controls as the app: Search-only mode, Friends-first, keyword filters, schedules and allowances.

How it helps: The scroll doesn’t just move from your phone to your laptop when you block it on one.

Control

Shape how each app behaves, when you can use it, and for how long.

  • YouTube Search-only mode

    Pro

Hides the home feed and recommendations. You get a search bar, your subscriptions if you want them, and the video you searched for.

How it helps: YouTube becomes a tool you use on purpose, like a search engine, instead of a feed that uses you.

  • Facebook Friends-first

    Pro

Hides “Suggested for you” posts and suggested reels, so your feed is mostly people and groups you chose.

How it helps: Keeps Facebook for what it’s good at — friends, family, groups and events.

  • Keyword & topic filters

    Pro

Choose topics you’re tired of — politics, spoilers, gossip, crypto hype, gambling, clickbait — or add your own words. Matching posts are blurred and folded away. All matching happens on your phone.

How it helps: Protects your mood and your attention from content you’ve already decided you don’t want.

  • Daily time limits per app

    Pro

Give each app a daily budget. When it’s used up, Reelless gently closes the app for the rest of the day.

How it helps: Turns “just five minutes” into a real five minutes.

  • Daily short-form allowance

    Pro

Not ready to quit short videos completely? Allow yourself, say, 10 minutes of Shorts a day. After that, the player closes.

How it helps: A middle path that respects that some short videos are fun — in moderation.

  • Open limits

    Pro

Limit how many times a day you can open an app, independent of how long you stay.

How it helps: Breaks the reflex of checking an app dozens of times a day.

  • Schedules

    Pro

Create Work, Study and Bedtime schedules with stricter rules that switch on automatically.

How it helps: Your phone matches your day — focused when you need it, relaxed when you don’t.

  • Pause before open

    Free

Opening a protected app shows a short breathing moment first. Continue if you meant it, or close if you didn’t.

How it helps: A few seconds is often enough to turn an impulse into a choice.

  • Deep Focus sessions

    Pro

Start a timed session that blocks the apps you choose entirely until it ends.

How it helps: For exams, deadlines and deep work, when even a quick check is too much.

  • Strict mode

    Pro

Changes to your rules require a waiting period or a PIN, so you can’t switch them off in a weak moment.

How it helps: Your calm, planning self gets to make the rules — not your 1 a.m. self.

Measure

Private stats that show where your time goes — and how much you got back.

  • Time per app

    Free

See how long you spend in each protected app, day by day.

How it helps: Awareness is the first step — most people underestimate their time.

  • Short-form time per platform

    Free

Separates time spent watching short videos from time spent messaging or searching.

How it helps: Shows where the problem actually is, without blaming the whole app.

  • Estimated reels and shorts watched

    Free

An estimate of how many short videos you watched, based on swipes in the player.

How it helps: A number that’s hard to argue with — and satisfying to watch shrink.

  • Blocks and time saved

    Free

How many times Reelless stepped in, and an estimate of the time that saved you.

How it helps: See the benefit, not just the restriction.

  • 5-Tier Brainrot Clarity Score

    Free

Real-time on-device score from Peak Clarity (85–100%) to Zombie Mode (0–19%) calculated from compulsive triggers and scroll frequency.

How it helps: Instant self-awareness that turns unconscious doomscrolling into intentional choices.

  • Hourly heatmap

    Pro

Find the hours you reach for the scroll most — late nights, lunch breaks, right after waking up.

How it helps: Lets you set schedules where they’ll make the biggest difference.

  • Weekly report and streaks

    Pro

A short weekly summary on your phone, plus streaks for days under your limits.

How it helps: Small wins, noticed, keep a new habit going.

Coming later

Planned features we’re working toward. No dates yet — follow the changelog.

  • Accountability partner

    Coming later

Optionally share a weekly summary with someone you trust, who gets notified if you turn protection off.

  • Family / parental mode

    Coming later

Manage short-video rules for your family’s devices with care and transparency.

  • Sync between phone and Chrome

    Coming later

Optionally sign in to keep your rules and stats in sync between the Android app and the Chrome extension. Both will always work fully without an account.

  • On-device smart topic filter

    Coming later

A small on-device model that recognizes topics beyond exact keywords — still without sending anything anywhere.
